I am a retired History teacher now, but a traveler for more than 4 decades. My first trip was backpacking through Europe after graduating high school in 1981. My travels really picked up when I worked for an airline for 18 years until I retired in 2010. My second career as a teacher gave me a couple months off every summer to travel, though I took more individual trips when I worked for the airline. I introduced middle school students into overseas travel beginning in 2015. Through 2023, I would take a group to a European country and connect it to what I taught them as a 7th grade History teacher. I plan to keep traveling all my life, so watch my blog for updates!

• Hobbies:

  Traveling...any surprise? I also love history -- seeing places I have read about all of my life are a thrill to me. I also enjoy beautiful scenery, so will usually climb hills, towers -- whatever -- to get the best view.

• Favourite places:

  Italy -- so much History and scenery combined together. I've been there many times and still have lots of places there I want to see! I also love Southeast Asia -- seeing the ancient and medieval temples like the world-famous Angkor Wat (or the lesser known Bagan, in Myanmar) are evocative, to say the least. I enjoy Europe, in general, and especially the Mediterranean part of it.
