Hi all,
I realise there is a Visa on arrival section, but can if i am arriving in Thailand over land, can i buy a visa at the border from Malaysia? i want to stay more than 15 days.
Alternatively as i wil be travelling up through Malaysia to get to Thailand, is it possible to get a Thai visa from a Thai embassy in Malaysia? (i have left it to late to get one in the UK now).

I've entered Thailand numerous times (I must have been in and out of the country over twenty times now) and I've never been asked for proof of on-going travel.
Algore, Probably you can help me.
1. Is there any facility of "Visa on arrival" at Padang Besar (on Thai side) if I am coming by train from Malaysia? I know it is possible if we cross the border by bus, but train is more convenient for me. I couldn't find any relevant info on the net.
2. Do I have to show a return air ticket for this? Won't a train ticket be sufficient?

I'm not sure about the crossing in Malaysia as I've never done it by train. I do know that when I went from Laos to Thailand by train, we had to get out and get our passports stamped at the border as normal. We also had to change trains after we'd gone through customs. I'm guessing the Malaysia/Thailand train crossing would be similar. Unfortunately, I can't give you any concrete information on that though.
As for the return ticket, I think a train ticket will be fine. They just want to see if you're actually going to leave the country after you've visited it. As I said before though, I've never been asked for an onward ticket before though. It seems that only a very small number of customs officials actually ask for it.
Ok, so basically I have read though the form and have a basic understanding of how the Thai visa works, but just to make things clear:
If I traveled and stayed in Thailand for a month, then go to Laos for a week, then come back to Thailand for another 30 days, then head off to Malaysia... would I have to get any sort of visa?
